Disruptions hit Renfe train routes this weekend, as Cartagena, Murcia and Valencia services move to buses
Track upgrades force another round of suspensions, with road travel and extra support in place for passengers
Renfe passengers hoping to hop a train between Cartagena and Murcia, or make the journey to or from Valencia this weekend, will have to get comfortable on a bus instead. The national operator has confirmed that all Intercity trains and commuter services linking Murcia and Cartagena will be suspended on Saturday October 18 and Sunday October 19. Instead, buses will cover the route between these two cities, keeping the Segura capital and the port city connected while the tracks are off-limits.
- Commuter trains on Line C1 and medium-distance services will be replaced by buses between Crevillente and Alicante on both days.
- The four weekend services between Callosa de Segura and Alicante are now bus journeys.
- In total, 170 buses have been scheduled to run over the weekend, offering 8,500 seats to cover demand, with up to six buses at peak times if necessary.
